Bigger and badder!
Having grown up in the Sydney bar scene during the 90’s, David Spanton and I go back to the beginning of Bartender Magazine. As our media partner, Bartender Magazine was instrumental in 2019 with our Australian debut at Sydney Bar Week and provided tremendous support in helping us take flight. We’re stoked to have them as our official media partner again this year and to be invited back at Sydney Bar Week in 2020!
In 2019, we sold out the Home venue, introduced our peers to our Bartender Boxing across six incredible bouts and smashed the pants off that Sunday night in Sydney! We managed to raise money for mental health in partnership with Black Dog and the feedback has by all accounts been inspiring and enthusiastic.
We would like to thank the forward-thinking brands that stepped up to partner on our Sydney launch last year, we honestly couldn’t have done it without them and the overwhelming support of so many incredible industry personalities and venues that wholeheartedly trusted in our cause. We are so grateful for this industry!
My old friend and now our BBO promoter Mark Tarrant will continue to lead Australian operations and we’ll be leaning on our 2019 Alumni to support us locally.
Our non-profit operates on brand partnerships and so we’re currently working on funding to determine the level of reach in programming to new Australian cities contingent to this. We’ll try our best this year to come to your city, but please bear with us as we grow into Straya.
This platform is life-changing, and the most difficult step is the first one in applying. Do that and the rest will take care of itself.
